(-3)

Soo fun but i wish there was like a big ship and it was multiplayer

(1 edit)

I'm on Mac OS 13 an it says that it just can't be opened would really love to play this

Try using the downloadable itch.io app. I downloaded the game through there, and it launched just fine for me.

You can find the itch.io app by searching up "itch.io app" and following the instructions on their website.

ok I will try that

sorry for the late reply but it still doesn't work

Here's how you do it:
Go into the terminal app and type this in [chmod -R 777]

Then enter space, drag and drop the app into terminal (that will automatically find it's path) and press enter

If if still doesn't work or it says something about the file being damaged you can do [xattr -cr], space, and drag the app to terminal and enter.

Hope this helps!

btw holy shit i love it

Is this game still being worked on?

(+1)

he said he might work on it but that was a year ago sadly, but that doesn’t mean someone else will!

i'm not sure if the linux file works. it loads up, but once loaded inside, the fpv is extremely glitched out and completely unplayable. sounds like a cool concept though.

Great Concept!!!

This is VERY much Shadow of The Colossus-pilled and I love it. The boss designs are cool, the heavy waves are cool, god the 3rd boss is downright beautiful. Game somehow also maxed out my 4080 which is a bit interesting since the game doesn't seem too graphically intensive. I do have a few gripes tho:

1. The boat is a bit annoying to drive, I understand that's the point, but it can be frustrating sometimes. I understand heavy seas are hard on boats, but it seems like the gravity on the boat is lowered and that causes it to very often "fly" off waves and then slam into the next one causing the screen to shake, which is very offputting and annoying. The "cruise control" of the boat is also annoying, the second you get on the controls, the boat stops until you hold W again, and I can't count how many times I went to run out to attack the boss only to realize I didn't hold W for a millisecond longer than I pressed E to get off the controls so I'm just not moving, or being pulled along by boss 4 (will get more into that). The left cabin door being closed is diabolical design, and made me almost always make sure the boss was always on my right side. It also takes a long time for you to pull out the harpoon once you get off the controls, making some of the split-second hits very annoying.

2. The first boss is okay, the design isn't too crazy, it's just a big fish, but having to dodge lightning, along with it being charged up, and then getting an EMP attack was very cool. It honing in sometimes felt a bit unfair and like you can't truly dodge it and its tiny head with the way it dives can make it very hard to hit the weak spots, but still a decent first boss in a game with an interesting learning curve.

3. The second boss was very good, you'd think the thinner arms are a bit harder to hit but you make them hone in on you so you can hit them to avoid hitting you. The attack that sends you into the air was awesome. Biggest gripe was that driving around it causes you to get "behind" it which can cause an odd feeling lull moment in the fight as the boat is relatively slow with the entire scale of everything.

4. The 3rd boss was visually stunning while being mechanically basic.  At a certain point it was just flying in circles high in the sky for like 8 minutes as I tried my best to snipe it out of the air, and I somehow managed to do it. Much harder to get hits on compared to the first boss, somehow.

5. And then there's the 4th boss.. which is definitely the most disappointing. I do like the "figure out how to start the fight" concept but it really did take me much too long to figure it out, especially considering how fast the thing is swimming around. It's extremely unfair that it can still shoot you with its cannons through its own body, yet the hitbox for you trying to hit it with harpoons is much too large in some spots. I couldn't tell you how many times I was being dragged along by the thing under its arm, while I am constantly repairing because the thing keeps shooting me through its body. I managed to get its health all the way to "nothing" (there was literally no red on the bar) and every time I would stun 2 cannons, it would immediately turn away from me, dive, and by the time it popped back up, the cannons were already done being stunned. I only managed to get the final hit on it because I just happened to be in front of it as it turned to dive and its mouth was open. EASILY spent the most time on this boss, and majority of it was frustration rather than awe like the others.

The sense of scale is incredible, I just wish I wasn't attacking with the slowest weapon possible; a throwing harpoon. I have been itching for some "killing gigantic monsters" type games after SoTC and this definitely scratched that itch. Hope you get back to it soon!

 what are the requirements?

most probably late, but i have a gtx 1650 and a 5500 amd radeon cpu and it works perfectly,

(+2)

I played this game with the song "Compass" by Mili and it was so good that I have no idea why the hell this isn't on STEAM yet!

https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=551021c10aa0683bf8fbbf8902e753bf2d3bf464782482ff1...

there is a steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1557140/What_Lives_Below/

but unfortunely the game is likely abandoned due to the dev not posting anything or giving any info about his status in general since june of 2023

(+2)(-4)

HURRY UP AND HAVE THE WHOLE GAME NOT THE DEMO ANYMORE PLS

(+4)

Is this game ever going to get an update?

(+2)

More than likely not because this was just a demo I beleive, but the developer was posting stuff on twitter, but they haven't posted anything since July of last year. So safe to say this game probably won't be finished

It doesn't work for Apple. I am using an MacBook Air M3, not sure if I'm doing anything wrong or maybe it's not available for it yet.

try using the downloadable itch.io app to play

(+3)(-1)

its not dead the dev is still working on it on Twitter

(+1)(-3)

unfortunately his twitter is not available unless you have an account, because of some thing elon did

(+1)(-1)

tsk tsk tsk, you making a bad example of yourselves, I only meant that elon made twitters accessibility worse for those who don't have twitter, I said nothing of his policies, get yourself together

(+1)

Also the developer has posted anything since June 18'th of 2023. So more than likely the game is never going to be finished. Just hope the developer is ok

(+1)

beautiful game, pretty fun too, forshame it is a dead game. it has my condolences
